Texels are ideal for 4-H and FFA youth. THeir gentle nature makes them easy to handle both in preparation and in the show ring. Texels are slick-shorn for exhibition which mean less time in preparing them. They are selected for their extreme definition of muscle. In national shows, they are scanned for lin size and back fat to determine the superior animal.
